Big Wins Against Top Ivy Rivals

Both teams remained unbeaten after a successful road trip to Princeton and Penn this past weekend.

Our women didn’t lose a match all weekend, beating both Princeton and Penn 9-0. The closest individual match was the #1 match against Penn as co-captain Sabrina Sobhy ’19 took on last year’s individual national champion, Reeham Sedky. After exchanging the first two games, Sabrina clinched the third in a tie-breaker and closed the fourth more comfortably, 11-5.

After our men beat Princeton 9-0 on Saturday, they faced their toughest challenge yet against a very strong Penn team on Sunday. Penn was already up 3-2 in matches and up 2-0 in two of the remaining matches before Julien Gosset ’21 and co-captain Sean Hughes ’20 fought back to win their matches in five games. The score in the end was 6-3 but the match could’ve gone either way. A great team effort!

Next Up: Trinity, Yale & Brown

The teams don’t get a lot of rest as they face Trinity at home on Wednesday at 5pm. The regular season concludes this weekend with a home match against Yale (Friday at 5pm) and an away match against Brown (Sunday at noon and 2pm)

The Trinity and Yale matches will be streamed on both ESPN+ and Ivy League’s International Platform. More information about streaming can be found on our blog.

Live scores for all the matches should be available through Club Locker (requires sign-in).
