Men and Women Beat Penn & Princeton

Both Crimson teams remained unbeaten this past weekend after wins against Penn and Princeton.

The closest match of the weekend was the women’s battle against Princeton with the Tigers taking an early 2-0 lead. The teams were eventually at 4-4 with Harvard’s #4, Eleonore Evans, being down 1-2 in the deciding match against Princeton’s Emme Leonard. Evans fought back in the fourth, winning 11-9. She took an early lead in the fifth and was able to clinch the game 11-8 after a long final rally.

The win came after the women had beaten Penn 8-1 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the men’s team played some great squash to beat both Penn (8-1) and Princeton (9-0). What makes the wins even more special is the fact that George Crowne and Adam Corcoran, both top 9 players, were out of the lineup due to injuries.

Both teams are 4-0 (3-0 Ivy) on the season and ranked #1 nationally.

This Weekend: NYC Friends Reception, Stanford & Columbia

The teams travel to New York this Friday and will attend our Friends reception at the Yale Club. If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please do so ASAP via the website.

The women’s team will play Stanford on Saturday (1:45pm @ Harvard Club of New York) and both teams will face Columbia on Sunday (1:30pm @ StreetSquash).

We hope to see many of you in New York!

Go Crimson!
