Both Harvard teams started their seasons with clear victories over Dartmouth on Wednesday. The men’s team didn’t lose a match while the women’s team won 8-1.
A day later, our men’s team beat MIT – coached by former world #1 Thierry Lincou and our own Amanda Sobhy ’15.

The teams will now focus on final exams before leaving for winter break. The season continues again in early January.

What else has been happening?
Ali Farag ’14 clinched the Men’s World Team Championship for Egypt last week and recorded a career-high world ranking in December. Ali is now ranked #3 in the world!
Mandela Patrick ’18 was named the 2018 Commonwealth Caribbean Rhodes Scholar last month. Starting in October of 2018, Mandela will spend two years completing master’s degrees in computer science and statistics at Oxford. We’re very proud of this young man!
Dylan Patterson ’03 is a new co-chair of our Friends group. Dylan was a member of Satinder Bajwa’s first recruiting class and went on to become a captain and a 3-time All-American during his collegiate career. He currently lives in New York City, works in finance and is an active doubles player. Welcome, Dylan!
Hope Prockop ’90 was given the Feron’s Wedgwood Sportsmanship Award at the Howe Cup this year. Since the 1970s, the Feron’s Wedgwood has been given out to a woman who has shown exemplary sportsmanship. Hope has won nine U.S. Masters titles and four British Open Masters titles.
We’re excited to welcome Cass Sunstein ’75 as our program’s second faculty fellow. Cass will be a great resource for our current student-athletes – both on and off the court. Cass will mentor our teams together with the Dean of Freshmen, Tom Dingman.
Ivy Pochoda ’98 was featured in PeopleTV’s most recent episode of Shelf Life discussing her new book, Wonder Valley. In this clip, Ivy talks about how her squash career has affected her as a writer.
