The Harvard women beat Trinity in the final of the Howe Cup yesterday without dropping a match and became national champions for the fourth year in a row! The team handled the pressure of being the #1 seed well and didn’t let a very talented Trinity team take control of the match at any point.
You can read more about the final on GoCrimson.com and watch the matches with commentary on USSquash.com.
The coaches are incredibly proud of each and every member of the team. All of the women have trained hard for the entire season and showed both physical and mental strength when it mattered the most.
The stats of the team’s season are impressive:
– National & Ivy League Champions
– Perfect season with a 15-0 record
– Of the 135 individual matches played this season, Harvard only lost 4
This year marks Harvard’s seventh national title in the past nine seasons and is its 18th overall – the most of any program in the country. Princeton has the second most titles to its name (17), ahead of Yale (7), Trinity (3), and Penn (1).
Thank you to everyone who came to watch and support this weekend! It meant a lot for our women to win the title at home in front of a big crowd.
