Last week was an eventful one for Harvard Squash.
After the successful weekend in Philadelphia during which both teams beat Drexel, Penn and Princeton, the men’s team stayed in NYC for the Tournament of Champions and met many of you at the alumni hit around and reception at the Harvard Club of New York.
Meanwhile, the women’s team travelled to San Francisco and Stanford for the week. After company tours at Facebook and Netsuite and a visit to downtown San Francisco, the women played Stanford and beat the Cardinal 9-0. The women remain unbeaten and ranked #1 in the country.
Once the teams returned to campus, we organized our first phone-a-thon in a few years last Saturday. Both teams called over 400 alumni and Friends during the afternoon! Our players really enjoyed talking with a number of you. It’s important for our student-athletes to understand that they are able to have such unique experiences as squash players at Harvard, thanks to the support of you and the entire Friends group.
If we didn’t reach you on Saturday, you can always give online (https://community.alumni.harvard.edu/give/15716515).
Thanks to all of you for supporting our programs.
Upcoming: Men Traveling To Rochester And St. Lawrence
While the women’s team will stay in Cambridge this weekend, the #5 ranked men’s team will head to Rochester and St. Lawrence on Friday. Both matches will be very tough: Rochester just beat #1 ranked Trinity last weekend and #8 St. Lawrence beat the Crimson twice last season.
You can follow the men’s team on our blog at https://harvardsquash.org/news/. We will post streaming information (if available), results etc. on there.
Meanwhile, the women will host Tufts on Friday (5pm) and play a scrimmage at the University Club of Boston on Monday (6pm) before the next round of Ivy League matches in February.
Go Crimson!
